The Viet Nam International Logistics Exhibition to be Organized for the First Time

Logistics is one of the fastest growing and most stable industries in Viet Nam, with an average growth rate of 14 - 16% a year and a scale of 40 - 42 billion USD/year. According to Agility's assessment in 2022, Viet Nam is ranked 11th in the group of 50 global emerging logistics markets.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, for the first time in Viet Nam, The Viet Nam International Logistics Exhibition (abbreviated as VILOG) is organized by Viet Nam Logistics Business Association (VLA) and VINEXAD Company. The exhibition will take place for 3 days, from August 10 to 12, 2023 at Hall B, Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), 799 Nguyen Van Linh, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. This will be a great opportunity for domestic and international logistics service businesses as well as the community of investors, developers and other stakeholders to exchange, cooperate, consult and choose solutions to optimize the logistics procedure of enterprises.

Thanks to its political and social stability and favorable geographical position, Viet Nam is benefiting from a wave of supply chain shifts. In addition, Viet Nam has taken advantage of its long coastline to have a seaport system with optimal capacity accompanying with an optimistic economic growth rate and stable production. The booming of e-commerce in both export and domestic consumption, helping Viet Nam to improve its competitiveness to become a center of transshipment in the world, a "link" in the global supply chain. Viet Nam is expected to become Asia's "Logistics Star" in the near future.

Besides advantages, difficulties and challenges exist at the same time such as high service costs, increasing pressure on infrastructure. According to experts, the logistics industry still needs to develop infrastructure connectivity, public-private cooperation to expand into logistics centers and comprehensive supply chains in terms of circulation, processing, preservation, transportation and distribution.

The exhibition is organized by the Viet Nam Logistics Business Association (VLA) and the Organizer VINEXAD, with the active support of the Agency of Foreign Trade and the Trade Promotion Agency (under Ministry of Industry and Trade). The combination of a national association in the logistics industry and a professional organizer with extensive experience and network of partners is expected to create an event that showcases development of Viet Nam's logistics industry commensurately with its inherent potential, at the same time creating a buzz to attract foreign investment, transfer operating technology, train human resources, and establish a green ecosystem in the logistics industry.

One of the most interesting sectors at VILOG 2023 is the application of logistics technology. Advances in technology affect all of us in immeasurable ways, especially in logistics where new technology is rapidly changing the way businesses operate. With consumers’ demand for faster, cheaper and more flexible shipping, it's more important than ever to keep up with the developments that shape today's logistics industry. In the face of a growing wave of online shopping, investing and applying logistics technology is considered a solution to help businesses meet the increasing demand for transportation and bring more conveniences to consumers in the near future.

Coming to VILOG 2023, visitors will have the opportunity to approach and learn the latest logistics technology applications; thereby applying technology to the management and circulation of goods to enhance transportation capacity, anticipate the increasing demand of the market and improve the customer experience. Technology enterprises will participate in the introduction of products and services at VILOG 2023 such as: AFR Solutions - the leading cloud computing solution for logistics, supply chain and trade management; AHAMOVE - OnWheel, professional delivery management software; SAMSUNG SDS - 4PL service based on integrated logistics platform Cello … ECOTRUCK - a company that applies technology to the management and operation of transport, focusing on the large cargo segment with an ecological system of auxiliary services for transportation such as petrol trucks, convertibles , insurance, repair, financial support for car purchase, truck loading, parking... to help optimize vehicle operation, cut costs and bring efficiency and value to businesses and transportation partners.

Parcel Performance and iPrice Group conducted a survey of 80,000 e-commerce consumers in Singapore, Malaysia, Viet Nam, Thailand and Indonesia in 2019. The result shows that the main factor currently limiting the growth of e-commerce in Southeast Asian countries is courier service. Namely, online shopping consumer satisfaction is directly proportional to delivery time, the longer the delivery time, the lower the customer satisfaction. In the 5 surveyed countries, the average express delivery time of Viet Nam is up to 5.6 days, ranking second in speed, only 0.2 days behind Malaysia, which means Viet Nam's express service needs to improve a lot.

That is also the reason why concurrent event with VILOG this year is the Cross-Border E-Commerce Expo in Viet Nam (CBEE), an event that is expected to actively promote the digital transformation of the economy and the development of e-commerce, foreign investment in industrial chains related to e-commerce that is beneficial for promoting the growth of the Vietnamese e-commerce market in general and the e-commerce logistics sector in particular.

Especially, the Viet Nam International Logistics Exhibition 2023 will be held at the same time and place as the 27th International Food, Beverage & Packaging Exhibition (Vietfood & Beverage - Propack). The intersection between the two exhibitions of F&B and Logistics industry will increase trade efficiency, diversify supply sources, promote competition and strengthen the connection between domestic and foreign enterprises.

Within the framework of VILOG 2023, in addition to essential B2B activities, a series of specialized conferences on interesting topics such as "Exporting agricultural products online by model Buy-Ship-Pay", "Cold chain", and especially the seminar "Customs accompanies enterprises to develop logistics activities and improve export competitiveness" organized by Customs News and VINEXAD will be an important highlight to provide practical knowledge and useful lessons as well as answer questions from attendees.

The series of events will have a scale of more than 1,000 booths expected to attract the participation of businesses from 20 countries and territories, welcoming over 20,000 visitors in 3 days of exhibition.

The combined exhibition model was selected by VLA and VINEXAD with the goal of diversifying customer data, developing the target industries, and promoting two-way trade between domestic and foreign businesses.
